On my worst day, I am still capable of giving me my best self.
Nia Biggs was born and raised in Virginia, in the historic area of Hampton roads to her resilient, strong, and fun-loving parents. She's the youngest of five siblings, who looks up to her as their little sister. For the past fifteen in a half years, Nia has been a loving and devoted wife to Deacon Obadiah Biggs and a phenomenal mother to three beautiful children and two bonus children. Nia, answered the call on her life in 2005. Right away she became a licensed and ordained Evangelist under the leadership of Abundant Life International Church focusing on outreach in her community. In 2006 under the same leadership, Nia graduated from the Abundant Life theological seminary school of excellence as a Certified Minister in training.
While in training, Nia served as Vice president of Life House Women's Ministry, Community Coordinator for David's Army Outreach, and Minister of the Youth Department. After partnering with Newport News Community service Board, Nia began teaching English as a second language though David's Army.
In 2007 Nia Founded Genesis Women of Empowerment. A non-profit organization. Through effective workshops seminars, mentorship, conferences, preaching and speaking engagements many women where lead to serve Christ. As her journey continued, in Nia continued to impact hundreds of men and women to serve God. Through her effective leadership she was introduced to the anointed Founders of Psalms Ministries. It was at Psalms Ministries that Nia continued her Ministerial training. In 2007 she became a License and Ordained Minister of the Gospel, where she served on Staff as a Minister, director of the 1st. Lady Board, Pastor's Aide board, Intercessory Prayer team, Deaconess board, and Director of the Youth Department.
As an astounding playwright, In 2010 Nia's debuted her first Gospel Stage Play titled "Well Put together, easily torn down" with a cast of 15 beautiful actors together they brought the community together. The Proceeds from her production was given to TACT (Tidewater AIDS community Taskforce) in Norfolk, Va. in hopes to help find a cure as well as encourage her community to get tested for HIV and AIDS which plagued the black and brown communities.
Her production lead many to receive free testing as well as gain extensive knowledge on the wide spread disease. For all of her efforts in 2013 Nia was inducted into the Hall of Fame by The Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority for Outstanding achievement within her community.
Where is she now?
Currently Nia serves as the Founder of H.E.R. Ministries, and Founder of Mental H.E.R., LLC, as a Certified Life Coach she immediately came aboard as a First Aid Mental Health Responder, Certified Family to Family Facilitator for NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) an active member of the NAACP (National Association for Advancement of Colored People) Her day job as a Patient Service Coordinator II, Wellness Champion, Safety Liaison, and member of the Black Employee network at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA. is rewarding.
